Raymond James Owens, Aspiring web designer and graphic artist. See: Raymond Owens Web Design, Also see Designz in Motion. The son of an Air force bomber mechanic, Owens was born in Salina, Kansas. His parents moved frequently while in the service and divorced shortly after moving back to Tucson, Arizona (1967). Owens grew up in the hot, arid Arizona desert and began expressing his creativeness by drawing many pictures of the brilliant sunsets and mountain vistas. Although, his mother wanted him to pursue a law degree at the University of Arizona, Owens found that the he enjoyed working in the artistic world, even though it did not pay very well at the time. He married while in college and raising a family meant that his artistic endeavors would have to wait. He spent the next 18 years climbing the corporate ladder in the automotive industry. Always tinkering with computers he was fascinated with the internet and the advertising market that existed therein. Owens believed that he could design a better looking web site than what others were producing (2004). Owens web designs while initially colorful and artistic lacked the technical knowledge required to create a site that could be quickly found by search engines and could be uploaded in a reasonable amount of time. Constantly looking for areas of improvement he studied the internet and improved upon those areas in need of attention. He quickly discovered that the market although saturated with web design firms, was growing at a remarkable pace. Not looking to mass produce web sites like the rest, he discovered that customers were willing to pay for a custom site and the personable attention to detail each would receive. Owens set out to win customers one at a time. By going door to door and mailing out flyers he began to acquire a loyal customer base that would refer other potential customers. Owens continued working his regular job and moonlighted in his spare time creating web sites for his customers. Owens started his first web design business, Designz in Motion (2006). He was acquiring customers steadily but found with the ailing economy, it was difficult to retain them when thier own businesses were also suffering. Undaunted, he returned to his regular automotive job and continued designing web sites in his spare time. Owens mother died in Tucson, Arizona, (2008). With few family remaining in Tucson he moved to Isanti, Minnesota to live with his father on his ranch (2009). The prodigal son had finally returned home after many years away. His father welcomed him in and asked him to design the company website. R Triple J Enterprises. Since, Owens has renamed his own business Raymond Owens web design (2009). He has continued studying, learning and utilizing the newest techniques and technologies available, constantly improving upon his designs. His natural eye for color and composition make for the creation of appealing and captivating web sites that friends and customers have to come to expect and appreciate. Realizing that the desire to learn is never ending, Owens has returned to college to finish his degree in Internet networking and telecommunications at Anoka Ramsey College . |
